6 large, firm yellow bananas

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 1/4 cups lightly packed brown sugar

Canola oil or cooking spray for greasing the grill

Sprinkle chopped

pecans, walnuts,

or almonds

Gather all the ingredients and prepare your grill for medium-low heat (around

300°F to 325°F), whether using a gas or charcoal grill.

1.

Without peeling the bananas, cut each one in half lengthwise.

2.

Using a pastry brush or your fingers, lightly brush each banana half with the

lemon juice, coating all sides.

3.

In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and brown sugar. Mix well.

4.

Generously coat the cut side of each banana half with the cinnamon-sugar

mixture, ensuring an even coating.

5.

Lightly oil the grill grates with canola oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

6.

Carefully place the banana halves on the grill, peel side down (cut side up).

Close the grill lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

7.

Using tongs or a spatula, gently flip the banana halves over,

so the peel side is now facing up. Cook for an additional

3 minutes with the grill lid closed.

8.

Remove the grilled banana halves and transfer them to a

serving plate. You can serve them in the peel or remove the

peel before serving.
